My nuclear missiles were very ineffective

Hello all,

I built up three nuke missiles and got them in range of my enemy. I picked my targets using aircraft reconnaissance and spies. I launched on three separate positions, each with 20 plus units stacked up. Each of these provinces has full fortifications, but I thought nuke missiles ignored fortifications.

So I launched :) Unfortunately, the majority of his units survived and my nukes had little effect. How is this possible? I didn't think fortifications mattered against nuclear weapons?

Thanks.

Are you sure the units weren't destroyed? The World Herald doesn't always give accurate battle losses. Do another flyover to confirm the casualties. Also, remember that some units may simple just get lucky because of the "X" factor. Just because a Nuke is rated at 3000 doesn't mean that it delivers the full 3000 points of damage.

Also, even the nukes have their limits and if you fire off a nuke at a small stack of Heavy Tanks guarded with a bunch of Infantry, some, if not most, of those Tanks are probably going to survive because the Infantry are going to absorb a lot of the damage and the Tanks have a very high defensive rating to counter their portion of the nuclear damage dealt (which is divided up among each class).

It seemed like such a waste to destroy an entire battle station just to eliminate one man. But Charlie knew that it was the only way to ensure the absolute and total destruction of Quasi-duck, once and for all.
The saying, "beating them into submission until payday", is just golden...pun intended.

With large stacks you sometimes have to send more than one nuke strike to take out the pile.
