New Game Admin - Looking for Guidance

It is now day 6 and I just got promoted to Game Admin. There are now only two of us left and both of us are new playing our tutorial game. Interestingly we allied around day 3 (north and south US). Germany was the 3rd active newbie and he apparently just went missing. Multiple questions below:

  • If I do not kick anyone are players likely to come back periodically to check in? I think most are new (22 person map 1 lvl 40: 1 lvl 10, everyone else a recruit 1 of whom has High Command)
  • If I boot all the inactive's are we likely to find replacements? (How do I boot them?)
  • Finally in your opinion do I let it run so my Allie and I can learn basics in a sandbox setting, or recommend to him we shut it down and join a more active game. Lord help us if the AI's defeat us :)
Thank you to anyone who takes a moment to reply. I sense I am not the first to have this problem.

    • There is always a chance that someone may come back and checkin.

    • To kick inactives, get in your game: Click flag in upper left – then game admin button - you can remove all inactives from there

    • If you are indeed learning things, I would continue as you are. Just realize that once you do move on and play against people, there will still be a big learning curve as there will be many strategies and tactics unleashed upon you as there are upon all of us.
    • You can always keep this game going as is and join or start others at the same time.

I've only seen a few times that new players will come into the game after a few days. Reason be, they have no idea what they are in for. They may pick a country that is ravaged by war.

I've never joined a game after about Day 2.

So I don't think it is very likely that anyone would join on Day 6. But you never know.

I agree with BRDubbs, continue on and also join another game to get both the experience of getting to run your game against the AI and the experience of seeing what it's like to play against humans in a second game.

Good Luck,

Cheers,

Brian

A couple of months ago, I had a new player enter a 22-player map game on Day 45 or threreabouts, and take over AI Spain, which had built a considerable air force and navy under the AI. Immediately recognizing this new player armed with "Elite" level weaponry built by the AI as a very real threat to them, two players unleashed their 4 or 5 nuclear missiles on Spain with predictable results.
