I like it, maybe we could add listening posts? it lets you see enemy communications and diplomatic status with AI and other players.

I was thinking today about some new maps that could be added sometime to Call of War. An Operation Barbarossa map would be like the Mediterranean map, 4 players, probably the Soviet Union, Germany, Finland, and Romania. Just a thought. My second thought was a Pacific/Asia map, and I know this has been requested LOADS of times, but maybe Australia, the USSR, the US, Britain, Japan, China (and a small AI country called Communist China), Canada, who knows. Maybe even Tibet. The only problem is when it should be set in; in 1942 Japan is too strong, in 1939 it is still too strong, and in 1933 maybe it hasn't even invaded Manchuria yet... there are a lot of options. My final thought is a Modern Warfare map, where countries are just as they are today. That means the Balkan peninsula would be a slaughterhouse of countries; early on, strong countries could just rip through the Balkans and basically rule unopposed. There might need to be a kind of nerf for that. And possibly AI countries that historically hate each other go to war more often than usual... Lots of coding, but it would be amazing.

Two buildings is too much. Make it one building with both functions.
A intelligence station?
Yeah...
Such brilliance.
Aha! I got it! Naval bases would have ranges! The unit produced from, say, San Francisco would keep track of where it was produced. That way you wouldn't sail all the way to Tokyo. Range is updated as you update your technology, i.e. Level 6 Battleships.
Then maybe, you have to sail to the islands that you need to capture to resupply and refuel before moving on?
Exactly! Kind of HoI3! Great idea, @purplepizza117!
Could, like, a developer look at this thread? : P
@Jaws @TwistedSister @King Mafi @james13t @ItsYoungGun @Kalantigos @Sir McSquiggles @Akulla3D
You fellas mind giving your opinion on the topic?
what about a landing craft,
but it operates like an aircraft, after a journey out, it can only move back to its naval base where its left to refuel, but has a range like that of the air craft to move
loads troops on it, can carry 2divisions of a unit and can unload them a lot fast than standard

How about we simplly limit the sea routes to adjacent islands only? it sort of simulates logistics, as you have to stop by islands anyway
But that would waste all that open water, limiting the scope of the map and missing out several key battles.
Some of these have already been mentioned (just check out the radar thread) also mixing up so many ideas in one thread is inherently confusing. Especially since the thread is supposed to be about new maps.
terrible idea sorryaDudeWhoDoesThings wrote:

as dave mentioned

A new map...Operation sealion?
This actually makes far more sense.aDudeWhoDoesThings wrote:

I didn't mean routes only to one or two islands from eachother, but say, there are sort of "zones" you have to take, so to get through certain zones, you had to take the right island, but the way to assault it can be taken by open waters and other islands as staging points
Eh, I respectfully disagree with @salbalkus and @dDudeWhoDoesThings. I think a range of naval bases like HOI3 is the most realistic and non-intruding, like comrade dave said... kinda makes you miss out on some things.
any body interested in a world map that is with normal countries,
like america, russia , Australia not split up
I really like the current world map, but I think that another few versions would be good too
or even a blitz map with armies built up like we allready have
