We already have jets, lvl 5+6 int.
I want super heavy tanks!
Is there a unit type that we really really need, hasnt been suggested and discussed to death yet?
No paratroopers, aircraft carriers, SPAA, SPG/SPH, SPAT, combat engineers, reconaisance aircraft or ICBM's.
Something original. And I dont mean unicorns. Or orks.

I think the missile defense sounds pretty awesome. You set up that bad boy and it will get rid of missiles for you! *watches fireworks overhead*
Early jets were not just an improvement over existing fighters. They were very fast, not only in top speed but more importantly in accelaration. But the early jets werent very agile, So fighters still had a decent chance in a dogfight. And they performed poorly in low-altitude / low-speed operations, eg. ground attack. There's a reason fighters and jets co-existed for over 10 years.
Therefore I think jets could and should be a separate branch. Like the rocket interceptor, only much later, and obviously better.
Super heavy tanks (Maus?) were an utter failure. In concept, and in execution. Why would you want them; just cause they look cool?
Then you might also want the Landkreuzer series. We could have a 'ridiculous experiments' branch...

Isnt misile defence a bit too advanced for ww2? Could use it in the 1991 version.
Nah, we don't need the Landkreuzers. There is a good reason why they didn't show up. And if they really add them, how do you want to balance them? If you just have to have a shitload of oil and then that thing flattens half of europe alone, it ruins the game.
I am for the coastal batteries, it is relatively original and you could still balance it and stuff.
Air defense would be cool, but more than anything, I think an AT Infantry would be a nice addition.
Yes, I know, Inf has an anti-armor(tank) capability. But it's no good. Why not have Inf branch off into things like heavy infantry, not so good against other troops, but strong against armor?

Specialized AT infantry sounds plausible.
Germans had rotkapchen in development at the end of the war. First guided anti tanks missiles (atgw's) were operational in the 1950's. So a (very) late unit, branch of the mech infantry?
Does this sound right: day 40 tech, stats similar to mechanized infantry lvl 4, but with upgraded AT capabilities.
Specialize infantry capitalizing the flexibility of the men such as AT infantry
Coastal guns to defend againts amphibious invasions
More types of ships like the minelayer, frigate, corvette, escorts, and what not to add variety
monster heavy tanks
Rocket artilery
Kamikazes?
These are some units that sound plausible
Well Nuclear Bombers already are kind of kamikazes...
What if we get *wait for it* LSI!
LSI, as in Landing Ship Infantry?
Good idea. Could make marine assaults a lot faster than the 4:30 we have now.
Might be difficult to implement though, as it fudges with game mechanics.
Hrm, still. It would be fun, especially if we got LST too.
I was thinking maybe engineers? You couldbuild things in a province faster if engineers are stationed there.
Hmm, maybe they give units better defence stats and let mech units get health back faster?
Yeah, that sounds cool actually good idea.
I already like to use artillery in a costal defense role, might as well make dedicated coastal artillery units for me to use.
I use RGs in s1914, lots stacks of two that overlap each other pretty much solve things.
I think the game don't need new unit's because
1- we have enough unit's in all existing classes so no Jet's, no heavy heavy cruiser's ... these can be seen as improvement's that came when you upgrade a unit
2- for the torpedos well it's the same idea : when you improve your existing submarines, you have more powerful ones using more effective torpedos and sonar
3- AA missils well it sound more like a Cold War weapon, yes the german had desined some missiles with radio detection systems but they were very ... let's say advanced, but maybe we can count them as a AA improvement (level 6 AA can use missiles) but if you are talking about building coastal defence batteries (like bunkers and stuff) well they can be seen as fortifications that comes with building a fort in your city
4- If you realy wan't new units how about a secret weapon : the aircraft carrier, it will allow you to use you planes more effectively with out building an airbase in many cities
The CV goes in the naval tab, the nuclear CV might be a secret like the sub and BB but I think the nuclear CV might suit the proposed S1991.
