Why is my nuke doing 0 dmg & bombers getting shot down. Obviously we are talking abut +2000 HP units at this stage (end game) with air force power + 500 DMG while nuke have 20 HP.
Given you charging money for premium time its unacceptable to have such a dumb mechanism in place, this game fails to think trough its own basic game mechanics,

The nuclear bomber probably got shot down before it could deliver its payload. When aircraft attack ground units, the ground units always deal defensive damage first, then the aircraft deal offensive damage. In this case, the defensive damage against air is more than the amount of HP the nuclear bomber had, meaning it was fully taken down before the nuke could be dropped.
Above @_Pyth0n_ statement is correct. One additional tip: this mechanic does not work for nuclear rockets, but the units have to be stationary for the rocket to hit
nuclear bombers, although not super easy, can be shouted down by garrison stack of units with high AA stats or by interceptors.
It is safer to use Nuclear rocket than bomber but shorter range
