I have a stack of land units trying to take a province. Can I separate the weak moral units? I see one man standing at 70% but if I click the stack its 100% green.
question 2 If I just leave the man will he back off and battle only if he is the last unit left?

If he's already in a battle, then no. marching out of combat then yes you can
"A knight cannot save the world. They call certain methods of fighting good and others evil, acting as if there were some nobility to the battlefield." "Honor? Glory? There's no point in speaking to a killer who indulges in such nonsense." "It's a crime we call victory, paid for by the pain of the defeated"

There is no retreat. All battles are to the death.

Keeping low moral units out of a stack before battle prevents the lowering of the morality of the entire stack. As they, "one moldy slice ruins the whole loaf [of bread]".

Does general morale affect overall at all, becuase havingthem as a sponge for your better units can work out well enough
