Paratroopers caught on base?

Does anyone know?

When the base of a paratrooper in "plane" form is captured, does it become a trucked unit? Or does it automatically change to "ground troop" form?

I believe the mechanics for that are similar to that of normal planes, so it almost certainly turns into a convoy.

In the end I bombed it before my ground troops got there, so I still don't know)))
