planes that are on patrolling attack enemy units/aircraft once every 25 minutes, but only deal 25% damage per hit.
though, you should DEFINITELY have anti-air guns there, since the AA does full damage to enemy planes if it gets hit
Hi - New to the forum!
So, 2 questions .. I show a squad of enemy planes patrolling a province. Yet, I'm losing units underneath it. How am I losing units if it is listed as patrolling and not attacking? I can see where the planes are deployed from, yet they NEVER appear to land after hours of circling on "patrol". I've got the game on in the background while i do something else, and they just never leave the province to refuel. It's like 30 planes. 15 fighters and 15 tactical bombers..
Once they land, I'm going to launch a missile attack, since I don't have enough planes or AA close by to counter.
Thanks!

Thanks! Great info. Mystery solved. Thanks again!
I think Draza just mistyped, but it's actually 25% every 15 minutes. So it's 100% per hour.King Draza Mihajlovic wrote:

Oh.. the other question is, why can't I see when they land to refuel? I have been watching closely at regular intervals. I wouldn't have missed it for as long as I've been watching.
They don't have to refuel. They can patrol forever.
dammit, my bad.DxC wrote:

Thanks all, for clarifying!
You have to think of a "plane" as actually a group of several planes. I don't know the actual number, but lets say a squadron of 12, so while on patrol every 15 minutes there are some refueling, some circling the target, some attacking, and some in transit to or from refueling. When they are in "attack" mode they all pound on the target at once and return to refuel and rearm in formation.
Actually, each individual in-game aircraft unit is already identified as a numbered "squadron," and when three or more squadrons are combined into a single stack, they are identified as a numbered "wing." So, yes, every unit represents multiple aircraft and men, typically 12 or more planes and 400+ men. Just like a ground unit regiment represents 1,000 to 1,500 men, and an armored brigade represents 600 to 800 men plus vehicles.VorlonFCW wrote:
