Could you emphasis/give more details about this I don't fully understand you
Pause Column for Queue
Apologize if subject already covered elsewhere, but after reading forum for last couple of weeks extensively, I haven't come across this specific topic.
After just spending a lot of time establishing / planning a Queue order , I've come to realize that having the ability to put a pause on the entire list to allow for resources / cash to be built up for research purposes would be a nice utility.
Is there a way to do this already that I haven't been able to figure out?
Thx.

Sure.
I've got a long queue developed / established for IC's and Infrastructure.
Implementation (start of) each new level of IC / Infrastructure (btw is the an abbreviation for Infrastructure everyone uses?) is dependent upon Goods or Money.
The amount of money required to start the next IC or Infrastructure usually gets generated in the same time frame required to generate the Goods s0 the money is a "wash". Meaning the sash reserves stay about the same. So for the sake of this discussion, let's use Goods as the critical path.
Now let's say I have $10,000 cash reserves and day 8 research is approaching.
In order to generate the cash necessary for the next batch of research items, I would like to be able to simply "pause" the entire list of IC's and Infrastructure already set up in the queue rather than delete them all just to be able to build up cash reserves.
There doesn't seem to be a way to do this.
The only solution I can come up with is to write up the entire list and have a hard copy and then delete everything, thereby allowing the cash that would normally be generated and then spent on each new level of IC and Infrastructure built (the "cash wash" as mentioned above) during each Goods production cycle to accumulate.
For the production of units, that are also constrained by the production of Goods, I've been able to figure out a solution which is to just generate the unit to be produced in the queue and then make it a number one priority.
I haven't figured out a solution for research items that require an accumulation of money without having to delete the entire queue.
Thx.
I believe you are correct that there is NO way to issue a pause. However, if you insert a very expensive item I wonder if that would accomplish the same thing?
After observing how the queue "seems" to function (meaning items start being built regardless of where in the "numbering order" it is listed) it really is pretty smart and hasn't stumble yet in continuing its functions.
But your response did strike a chord in that I've read some forum responses to other topics that discussed something along those lines, but I wasn't able to understand their approach and that type of "option" hasn't yet presented itself to me in the current situation.
Those conversations had something to do (I think) with getting something started and then pausing it in production in order to save half the cost of resources spent and yet pick up time when wanting to bring that item online???) which I have yet to see how that can be done as well.
Typically when I need to “pause” the queue in order for resources to become available to do research I will pick a level 1 industrial complex to start in one of my core resource provinces that doesn’t have one yet.
Then I move this expensive level 1 Industrial complex to the top of the queue. If this occupies the number one spot resources will be allocated to this item with highest priority.
This allows me to purchase, or allow to accumulate, various resources, and use the accumulated resources to begin research.
Once I have the research started that I wish, I simply remove that level 1 Complex from the queue, and other items will proceed normally.
In the event that I don’t remember to delete the complex from the build queue, I did place it in a province that I will want one in eventually, so if it starts building before I cancel it the progress isn’t a complete waste.

As another option I actually make frequent use of the “clear all” button on the build queue.
Let resources build up for research, start a round of units and queue another one, and queue the next day’s buildings.
It is easy to work yourself into a trap having the build queue planned out too far ahead. Sure it is handy, but when circumstances change with enemies or priorities I don’t hesitate to flush it all and start over.
