Lets say I am planning to bomb this airplane convoy in a province. However, there's an AA lying in the same province. If I only target the convoys, would the AA deal damage to my planes?

No, it wonβt
Yes, the AA will damage your planes.
It wont damage it unless it was merged with the convoy.
If the AA is at the same location, or within 5k of the target, then the AA will also be targeted by the attack and it will return fire accordingly.

That is a distance. Whatever distance measurement you wish to use either K or cubits or miles or kilometers or even leagues. The exact unit does not matter, only that it is a constant and all of the movement speeds and other notations are in this same unit.
Determining distance is all about math. So for a unit with a movement speed of 20 on the given terrain, then they will travel 5 units in 15 game minutes. If you are on a tutorial map at 2x speed that means it only takes 7.5 minutes instead of 15.
Thx. So how does 'k' relate to view range?
And is range that unit engae object at the same for all units? Or how do I see which one engages at what distance?
Whatever numbers you see for range or speed are these same imaginary units. They aren't really Kilometers but that is the way many of us think of them. So yes the view range is expressed in the same imaginary unit as the speed, and as bombardment range.
For every single unit the close combat / melee range is 5 units. This is a circle and does not require a road connecting the two units in order to be effective.
Whenever a change in orders is triggered a unit will attack any units or provinces within that 5 unit distance automatically.
So the engaging radius never changes with tech? It is always 5k for all units, all the time?
I don't quite understand it though. If you send an airplane on patrol, it gives a circle for the target zone. That circle is much larger than 5k. So how can the airplane do damage at that distance?
How about light years? lol
5 is the standard for close combat, and does not change.
Bombardment units may change range with research level, this will be listed in the specifications for that research.
Planes do work a bit differently when on patrol as this is not a close combat / melee type engagement. The planes attack everything in the patrol circle on each tick. This patrol tick occurs every 15 game minutes and the strength is 25% of the listed direct attack strength.NoobNoobTrain wrote:
