Playing call of war under censorship

Hello,

I'm writing for a friend. He often has to travel to countries with censorship such as China but we want to continue playing our matches together. I know call of war detects multiple IP instances for one account, but I assume this is only per match? Therefore, there shouldn't be an issue if he uses a vpn to play CoW in those countries assuming he doesn't join a new match right? Thanks.
