Both my friend and I play CoW, and we want to play together. How can we join the same game as each other?
(We are both on iPad browser version)

Alright, first of all, DO NOT JOIN AN ONLINE GAME ON THE SAME WIFI.
I would suggest starting an alliance and inviting your friend to it. You can make games together and play against each other. If you're playing a game on the same wifi, make sure you turned anti-cheat off when you made the game.
Next, only join online games if you're sure anti-cheat is off or you're on different wifi servers.
Once you're at a high enough rank, you can start making games, so I'd suggest turning anti-cheat off, then you can play together in the same house/school/server.

Good advice here.
The Anti cheat system will prevent players from using the same connection for more than one account in a ranked game.
If you join or create games with the anti cheat off then you may play with others from the same network.
Having the anti cheat off means the game is unranked, so you don't gain XP to advance in rank, so you should still play a ranked game or two with other players and not just your friend to level up enough to create games and unlock maps.

Under the alliance tab. You should find a button(or a tab) labeled create. Fill in all of the required information, then you can create an alliance.
