Protect to low morale province

for example you have very low morale province like %0 %15

do you should try to protect this province before day change ?

what is the chance of units deserting ? can you lose 5 units in there with rebellion ?

If you want to keep it from revolting put units in it until the circled value below goes to zero. If the chance is 0% it shouldn't revolt. One thing I'm not sure of is if the "Morale trend" is applied before or after the revolt. For example, in the example below the Morale trend is falling. Say I had this at 0% change of uprising. If the morale was to drop before the uprise occured, it would be possible for it to revolt, even at 0%, because the morale drop could increase the chance of revolt above 0%. I guess if you want to be super safe you could add 1 more unit after 0%.

Morale Trend is inaccurate and often does not correctly present which way morale is going.

I believe morale trend is a simple comparison between target morale and current morale, indicating whether morale will fall or rise at day change. Obviously other factors (like capturing a capital just before day change) will also impact morale.

I will give an example of morale trend being absolutely wrong. i will make a post about it soon.

TBH I have had issue with the Bytro stance that 0% means no chance of a revolt. Before the current changes to morale were made when Morale had to be above 33 to have no chance for revolts to happen I noticed that some provinces would still rebel. I inferred from this that while it SAYS 0% what it actually means is less than 1% and as any math student should be able to explain less than and 0 chance are not the same number.

To answer the OP, that depends on if you have the forces on hand to attempt to prevent the rebellion, (ie get it to 0) if you have the forces to do so. If you do have sufficient forces then there is no reason to not garrison those troops in that province. If you do NOT have the forces on hand then there is no reason to tempt fate as they say, move those units just outside of the province capture point. An easy way to tell without looking in morale if a garrison is strong enough is to look and see if the red stripes go away when unit(s) are placed in the province.

As for the chance of units joining the rebellion, that is as far as I know never been released by Bytro as a hard and fast number. I personally do not even take a chance of losing units, I would rather move them slightly off the province capture point and if it rebels I can recapture with a minimum of fuss.

I do the same thing.
