Provinces Rebelling Question

I have a question about provinces that rebel. Let me out an example: I'm Morocco and I take Tenerife from Spain. Stupidly, I forget to put troops there to stop rebellion. Can Tenerife rebel and go back to Spain?

The past is a foreign country.

Maybe, maybe not. It could rebel to Sweden if it likes.

Yep. One time the above happened to me as Algeria. I conquered some Spanish and some Moroccan land, some of it rebelled to Sweden. He gave me it back though, he is a very nice guy.

Well, we just escaped one dictator, let us rebel to one that can't protect us. Yay!

Probably something along those lines.

Oh, balls! That is the country we were rebelling from!

One day change later

Sweden province rebels. Crowds proclaim to have become Swedish.

I think it would be funny if it was Russian Empire became Russian Com and then Empire's like screw it and sends all their forces when everyone asks why they say "We lost Moscow to those pigs and now we lost London (Canada) Nah ah not happening"
