I was attempting to purchase some goods in the stock market but it said i couldn't because I had some contradictory trades in my order book. What does that mean and how can i avoid it?

I assume there was a lag and you accidentally clicked several times, which meant you actually have a sell order which is the exact same as what you intended to buy, just clicked twice. So it's like you can't buy and sell at the same time. But if it's not this situation, I don't really know.
