Question on 2nd Place Coalition Gold Reward

Straight into the question. Let's say there's a coalition that is second place, and one other person wins solo. Since the coalition didn't win but got second place alltogether, does every coalition member get the second place reward, or are individual VPs looked at at that point?

The current behavior is that if a solo player obtains then most points to win the game, that individual scores are used to assign all rewards and coalitions are ignored.
