Easiest solution is to buy one month of High Command, and ads will be permanently removed from you game.

Quick Adverts Question
I understand why adverts are important for CoW, and I can't/don't complain about them. However, there are times when I open a game, and 1 sec later after it loads up, an advert occupies the webpage, meaning I have to refresh. And sometimes I have to refresh up to 10 times to get it working without the advert in the middle. Is this supposed to happen?

I've seen this problem occur to other people as well. I haven't had the issue myself but it's definitely a new thing. Perhaps it's a bug.

or buy the cheapest gold....then advertising has done its purpose

You can submit a bug report if you have a problem.
I suggest you clear browser cache, then update your flash/java and the browser as well - if this doesn't help try a different browser.
