I assume you mean your player ranking. That goes up only as your statistics go up. For example, building new buildings will add to the economic portion of your player score. Defeating units from human opponents will add to the military portion of your player score. Your player score is the sum of economic and military scores.

When your player score increases enough, you will rise one player level and your player ranking will increase. In a match, on the top left where your nation's flag is shown, you will see a progress bar just below that flag. As your player score increases, that bar will fill up. When it's full, you will be promoted to the next level. If you hover your mouse over that progress bar, a popup will tell you how many points you have and how many you need to get to the next level.

Player ranking is based on that score. Every player is ranked based on how many points they have in their player score. The player level does not affect ranking, but it is an indicator of the approximate amount of experience and player ranking that a person has.

For example, as of this writing, I have 286,592 total points and I'm at level 93. I'm ranked 110th. of all Call of War players. A lower number means that you are ranked ahead of everyone else with numbers higher. So a person ranked at 109 would have a higher score than me while a person ranked at 111 would have a lower score than me. If you play a lot, your score will increase faster than people who play less frequently simply because of their buildings and fights. The amount of victories vs. losses for each unit type is tracked in your stats and will determine your win/loss ratio but that doesn't affect your military score.

Each 10th. player level will add more points required to advance a level. So, to increase from level 0 up to level 9, you must acquire 50 points for each level. So, to get to level 1, you must gain 50 points. To get to level 2, you must acquire an additional 50 points to reach the required 100 points. To get to level 3, you must acquire and additional 50 points to reach the required 150 points. But, when you reach level 10, the points required to advance increase to 100 points per level. At level 20, the requirement increases to 200 points per level. And this increase ratio increases for each 10th level. At level 93, I am required to acquire roughly 8000 points to advance a level. Now those numbers aren't exact as I don't remember the exact increase, but the application of it works in the sense that it's a jump in point threshold size for each ten levels.

You can view the details of your statistics (player stats) and your level as well as your ranking on the game's home page (the main page you see after logging in to Call of War). You can see where your player rank falls by clicking on the Ranking tab. It will show the top ten players and then your score will be listed a little below them. You can see your player stats by clicking on your player name in the ranking list or you can click on the round button to the right with the equalizer symbol on it.

While it is your overall score that determines player rank, on the stats page, you can see where you rank just in military or economic scores alone.

It seemed like such a waste to destroy an entire battle station just to eliminate one man. But Charlie knew that it was the only way to ensure the absolute and total destruction of Quasi-duck, once and for all.

Ranking points you get for construction of buildings and for killing units of active players.

(on elite AI-maps you get also points for killing units of the elite AI)

However, the ranking starts not before a certain number of players joined the map, in addition to activated anti-cheat of course.

The minimum number for activating the ranking is..

"Normal AI":

2 player map = 2

4 player map = 4

All other maps = 6

And for all maps with "Elite AI" = 2

On your map 1 player is missing for starting the ranking ..Forum attachment

Further details on the ranking duration can be found here >> forum.callofwar.com/index.php?thread/16572-ranking-ends

I forgot that stuff about the Elite AI. I don't waste my precious Gold winnings on joining Elite AI matches since there usually are even less players than in regular matches and I prefer human opponents. The only time I ever tried to play against the Elite AI, I found it thoroughly underwhelming. Only one other human joined and I got bored. The AI wasn't smarter, it just built more crap that was easy to defeat.

I also forgot about the player count requirement for ranking to begin. so thanks for including these. But, if we are being thorough, then I will remind you that ranking also can end before a match finishes. To others not knowing how that works, just read the discussion in this thread which deals with ranking period ending.
