WHy do i only get 10k rares in the start but 15k of all the other resources?

Someone may be able to correct me but I believe the starting amount of Rares was decreased in a balancing change that nerfed Rocket Artillery. Too easy to spam them as comintern on Day 1 and overwhelm neighbors, so they made it a little harder (or, a little more costly).
It was in a fairly recent update, not sure exactly which one but iirc correctly your guess likes you with my memory. I remember wondering why I had so few rare around the time I read something about balancing changes (which of course mentioned Rocket Artillery). I didn’t pay enough attention to be precise, but if I had to take a guess I think I can corroborate this.jubjub bird wrote:

They do. It's the starting amount that was decreased. The update I'm thinking of was like 2 years ago fwiw

Yeah I remember it happening a few months ago too.
I see, never noticed this for some reason… but the worse thing is the manpower debuff! Manpower is already low enough as is! What were they thinking with 12k? At least It didn’t last too long.

Starting MP is back to 15k (AFAIK)
Yes it’s still 15k, I know for sure everything but rare is 15k, unless I’m just inebriated…
Could have sworn I just joined a game and it was 12,500

In fact, rare materials aren't much utilized at the start of the game...unless you invest in planes.
