Removing inactives

Can someone tell me what the usual protocol is for doing this?

I get a popup saying this should only be done with consent. But if a player is inactive, how is he or she supposed to 'give consent'? Presumably they will not be logging in to that game any longer in the first place?

Players including the leader in the game do sometimes go inactive multiple times during the course of a long game. Personally, I've never booted inactives so far while I've been a game admin. If the person is gone over a week, they probably aren't coming back. The only real advantage to removing inactives that I see would be keeping a player from reclaiming their country. Occasionally someone else might join and replace that player. While the person is inactive, their country is run by the AI any way.

The AI usually does a lousy job of running a country. Far more challenging in a game with players, so I would prefer to have inactives replaced by active players, if at all possible. Some of these people have joined the game and not played at all (everything in their country is at level 1 after a week).

So would I but it seldom happens. Few players are willing to jump into a game that is far along.
