Scorched earth has been talked about before, and (I think) the community has supported this being added to the game.

Scorched earth
As I'm retreating, being hounded by a clan that seems to never sleep or do anything else besides play this game 
I was looking for ways to slow them down and it would help if I could lay waste to the huge number of airstrips the Ai loves to build, they just fix them and I don't get a breather

Actually, this is a good idea. But it needs to go in Suggestions/Criticism.
