I may have missed this, but can I send a message to my alliance that shows up in their in box. I know about the in game chat, but that's not always used by people.

You can either send the message to them individually...OR
You can create a Coalition and have all the members of the Alliance join it. When you create a Coalition, a Coalition chat box is created, and all the Coalition members can access it and see the message. Thus, avoiding having to send the message to each of them individually.
Hope that helps.

@nemuritor98 When we use the in-game communications system for player-to-player messages, those messages may be intercepted and read by another player using the espionage functions. Does the same also apply to in-game coalition messages? I have been using either COW email (under the "Messages" tab on the COW main page) or outside email for anything sensitive that I don't want generally known. . . .

Not sure @MontanaBB, coalitions are one of those features that I don't use in CoW, at least at their actual status. But I hope spies can reveal those messages too. Regarding the MP(CoW mail), it's a safe way for talking about things you don't want generally known. I'm pretty sure that many of the experienced players don't use those options.

Thanks for the response, Nemo.
What about the in-game messenger? Is it secure, or is it also subject to interception via the espionage functions?

what do you mean by the in-game messenger? the chat or the diplomacy?

I meant the "chat" function in the lower righthand corner of the game screen. What do you mean by "diplomacy" -- the relationship toggle on the diplomacy board?

spies aren't able to know what you say in a whisper, they are just able to know the messages you send via the diplomacy tab

Okay, Right. The lower LEFThand corner of the game screen. . . .
