Silhouette of a Man

What does the silhouette of a man in a hat signify? It shows up when you highlight a troop unit. What does it mean and where does it come from.

Thank you to all who have tried to help. I will attempt to explain my situation again.

No spies are involved.

When attacking foreign troops, the troops will often split and the silhouette of a male wearing a fidora will appear at the bottom left of the troop icon. This troop then becomes nearly invincible. Missiles barely do damage and I have to hit it with a 3 to 1 ratio or better to kill it.

There are no other references to this anywhere I have found on the boards.

Can't you get intelligence on units without spies from time to time? Like, when you just moved out of an airstrike on that unit? Or it just left your regular view range? As for missiles, they are not supposed to be able to do much damage to units.

And in an attempt to address all other aspects of this growing thread; I also have a life, a job, a family and only play this game to blow off a little steam. Seeing things, which are not addressed in the rules, pop up takes a bit of the fun out is all. I just thought I'd ask "the experts".

@purplepizza117 Yes, I can get intel about units without using spies. I don't really understand how spies were considered as a possible explanation.

I understand. Also, I think you are getting the intel without spies, and using missiles on them isn't terribly effective. Try using tactical bombers or plain ol' land units.

@purplepizza117

Thanks. I am. I'm just frustrated that the AI keeps getting hidden benefits.

Another aspect, I forgot to mention, is that when this figure is present the units regain hit points at an alarming rate.

It's not worth throwing land units at them. They're damn near indestructible.

Then I have no plausible explanation. Please tell us your game number.

Thank you, again, for trying to help.

No problem! It's what we do here on the forums. Patton, would you like to take a look at that game? Or at least report it?

I don't even want to complain. I just want to understand. I've just now noticed that when the icon is present, I can't directly target the units to attack with bombers. It just reports that I'm bombarding the province; even though the unit has left the city and is on the move.

I just want to know what it is and how it's done. Maybe I'd be willing to buy it for myself! lol

That'd be nice, LOL!

sometimes when you spot a unit then your unit leaves the area so you cannot see a silhouette appears since you know it's there but since you don't have eyes on it anymore you don't know its size or type or if its just in you vision and not close enough to identify

If you click on that unit, you will notice the text of "Intel as of:" Its the last reported position/composition your unit identified it as.
I finally saw the little guy; I hadn't noticed it before. These responses are correct. i noticed no super powers.

Senor Pelon, It would help if you would look at the screenshot I posted and comment whether or not *that* is the "man w/ fedora" you're referring. Click on the "Intel" link.

@I Patton

Yes sir, that is what I"m seeing. But the explanations offered in this thread don't seem to correctly describe the behavior of the troops that I'm noticing.

Thank you for helping. Is there somewhere I can see a full explanation?

Two points. Do you have 'shared intelligence' with anyone? If so, that's his spy report being shared by him. Also, try running a Armored Car down by it to see if real or if it has moved. AC's move faster and see farther than any other unit. Run it by itself in case you have to bug out.

That "intel" graphic (of a silhouette) appears as a result of spying or scouting (by someone); the explanation of both having been fully described earlier in this thread.

Any suggestion or belief there's any other significance to it is in error.

It is possible, however, something else is occurring (ie. ghost units, units being impacted by their owners' use of Gold, etc.).....but it will not have any relationship to the intel graphic.

I looked up the game and could not find anything suspicious. The explanations in this thread are correct. There is nothing more to it.

Also there is no hidden function for AI to regain health.

Thanks for the help, @freezy.

How shorter this thread could have been if Freezy came on earlier.

British=best. Duh!
