I go defensive first, so I do:
Armored car > interceptor > antiair
Infantry > Antitank > Artillery > Light Tank
So I build antitank at some of my industrial complexes the first day in order to be ready if my neighbor tank rushes me.

@SuggestedSuggest: And don't be afraid to spend 2,500 gold units to buy another 5,000 tons of rare materials if you run out. It's important to keep your research running 24/7, and it may be better to use a little bit of gold to buy the extra rare materials, and save your cash for other things, especially early in the game.

Thanks for the info. I'll try to use your info to the best of my abilities
my path is almost always the same at the beginning of the game
Inf
AC
Art
LT
INT
AA
After this I will change depending on the game
AT, TB and Subs are usually next.

I usually want tacs as fast as possible; and I like arty better than LT for the first "big" land unit. then it goes:
Track one:
Inf
Int
Tac
Track two:
AC
AT
Art
LT
then navy after that unless there is some urgent issue about having it early.
Keep in mind that you have to start airbases as the second building (after barracks if you want them) in all cities where you plan to build tacs, except for the city where you get a free one. You will also need to buy a few extra K of rares for the extra AT; you can skip that if you don't want to/can't buy it.
