Spacing Air Bases

Ok so I want to plan air bases spaced out so I can fly from one to an other. How can I know how far apart to space them before even building one?

by eye measurement

usually every 2 provinces

more than 2 usually makes interceptors get in to trucks

thank you!!! 8o

ekk second question. So if I go on attack will it warn me if the target is out of range to fly back?

3rd? would they fly back or just not attack...or land in friendly territory and truck back or something else?

If out of range, they cannot attack.

To space Airbases, you can check to ensure distance by clicking on an aircraft, then dragging it to the province you wish to build an airbase at. While you are still 'holding' the unit, it will outline a white circle which is the operational circle for that unit.

So you can use that as a guide to where you need to build connecting airfields

Hope that helps :)

What I do to check is select a plane and ''hover'' it above the city which will show you its potential flight radius. While some cities are close enough you will find with their various placements and attached territory size that an exact rule doesn't exist. Of course, don't forget that has you advance your planes along the tech tree that they will have increased range.

A friend of mine makes templates to measure things......

As for your second question; you won't quite be able to even order attacks or patrols if they are out of range. I say quite because you will notice that rather than the dotted radius you will see the solid black line to show potential movement. What you plane will do than is to travel by truck and get smashed.

A moving target might leave your range before you get to it and in that case your plane should return to base if on an attack order, but will continue to patrol if on a patrol order. They will not land though to chase the target.

Be aware that higher level Interceptors (INT) have a longer range; therefore, it might be a good idea to build just the airbases (AB) one absolutely needs during the first 18 days so that, as INT range increases, fewer ABs need to be built. I find the level 1 Tactical Bomber (TAC), with a 313 km range, serves as a good guage for early AB placement since the lvl 3 INT also has a 313 km range.

Interceptor (INT) Range by Level:

Level 1 (lvl 1)/Available (to research):Day 1 (D1)/Range 250 km

lvl 2/D8/275 km

lvl 3/D16/313 km

lvl 4/D24/375 km

lvl 5/D32/438 km

lvl 6/D40/500 km

Tactical Bomber (TAC) Range by Level:

lvl 1/D1/313 km

lvl 2/D8/313 km

lvl 3/D16/375 km

lvl 4/D24/438 km

lvl 5/D32/500 km

lvl 6/D40/563 km

NICE STUFF!! thanx to you all!!
