Hello, look the newspaper, it is possible that your spies have fallen.
"I came, I saw, I conquered" Written in a report to Rome 47 B.C., after conquering Pharnaces at Zela in Asia Minor in just five days; as quoted in Life of Caesar by Plutarch; reported to have been inscribed on one of the decorated wagons in the Pontic triumph, in Lives of the Twelve Caesars, Julius, by Suetonius. "Alea iacta est" Gaius Julius Caesar.

If that's the case, why would I still be getting charged for them? And I didn't see it listed in the newspaper anywhere.

If you have active spies, you'll still pay these spies. If you have spies and you have not put them in a city, you'll still pay these spies.

You'll probably have them as 'active', but you haven't assigned them to do anything.
The past is a foreign country.

Yeah, this is possible.

If you are not interested in more spies, fire them.

I've tried but, like I said, how do I locate them for dismissal?

Click any province and you will find them if they are not assigned somewhere.

I tried that. All it does is show the number I have employed in the top left hand corner but, doesn't give me any indication of where they are so I can dismiss them.

If they are idle, you can dismiss them. If not, that means you have placed them somewhere. If you did, you have to find them.

I was finally able to locate the spies by clicking on each province I owned to see which had an active spy. They need a better and easier way of locating them

Hello Retsamtuls,
If you click the espionage tab, it will show you on the map where all of your spies are located. If you were to zoom out of the map, and pan around, you should see the icon of the type of spy, it will display in the province they are currently located. In the menu, it should show you a a breakdown of how much you are spending for spies per day, a total of how many you have, below the money breakdown it will show a list of each type of spy you have, on the right side of that, it will show your idle spies. Hope this helps.
