Stealth unit in province center-point

If I capture a center-point that has an enemy stealth unit, is the enemy stealth unit destroyed?

EDIT (a few hours later, after taking the province I didn't phrase the original question clearly enough, although it doesn't matter now.

The issue is that I remember some weeks ago someone complaining that a friendly unit had apparently passed through an enemy stealth unit without destroying it...

Anyway, if anyone wants to share similar experiences or thoughts on the issue, please do.
