Stratigic Bombers on Carriers

What is the most useless unit in the game? In my opinion, it is the strategic bomber.

Not for want of capability, those things work as advertised. But they're expensive, suffer unacceptably high losses against any sort of air defense, require lvl 3 airbase, and thus are costly to produce en mas. Ultimately missiles are cheaper as they can't be shot down, are efficient as single-use weapons, can be more easily made in large numbers, and don't require a fighter escort. All things considered, I think most of yall would agree that misses are more effective in the strategic/nuclear strike role.

Now Call of war could easily change that if they were to allow strategic bombers of lvl 5 or higher and nuclear bomber lvl. 3 to operate off carriers. This would make bombers worth the long term investment by giving them a capability missiles lack, the ability to bring a long-distance attack from the sea. It also makes players at least have a token navy to track down attacking fleets (right now I just use my nuclear missiles to knock out any attacking fleet). It would also make carriers more valuable.

Thoughts?

I agree.

Personally, I never really found Strategic bombers worth using in any of my campaigns. Which is sad, because I think it could be a more efficient unit. So far, like the OP said, they are too easy to shoot down as they have no escort available (Fighters are not meant for that purpose obviously). That makes them rather useless, as you can't actually use their superior range.

Strategic bombers are expensive in production and require most advanced airfield - which is ok, but they don’t compensate with their stats. And yes, rockets are in general more effective, which is rather silly.

It should be a way to improve STR bombers and make them worth using, like e.g. a new escort fighters with a long range and high defense, but allowing them to operate from Carriers is IMO also idea in good direction.

Only thing I even build these for is scouting because of their range. Used to use them in combination with artillery to blast away fortifications but yea rockets do seem to work better for that once they are at lvl 4 anyway.

Does anyone know if the developers have any plans on changing strat bomber mechanics?
