I would like to know how others have solved the problem of small island defense, especially if you have alot of them to defend. What works best?
My presumption is that trying to defend every island with forces is just too expensive, therefore building a central fortress with lots of air power mixed with navy would be better.
My first thought is that these islands present opportunities to create traps for would-be invaders, by using submarines or air power to attack them while the invaders are vulnerable during the 4.5-hour disembarkation process.
