In the diplomacy tab you can change your relation with countries (war, peace, etc.), one option is trade embargo. You have to tell your allies to put up a trade embargo on your enemies, you can't do it for them.
Trade embargo
Hello,
I've read some post that you can make your allies do trade embargo on your enemies. Is it possible since I can't find that option. When I start new trade it looks more like I'm trying to implement trade embargo on me or my ally for our resources (if you know what I mean).

Thank you vm
The only times I have used the "trade embargo" diplomatic relations status is to secretly suss out which AIs were selling what resources on the commodities market for my own evil purposes. (If anyone is curious, I'll explain the method in private conversation.) But I have never left the embargo in place for more than a few minutes, and I'm pretty sure I have never used it against a human player. So, I have a mechanics question . . . .
When you declare an embargo against another country, do you and/or the embargoed country suffer a morale penalty similar to the one associated with a war?
I use TEs on countries I'm likely to go to war with (sometimes as many as 10) and it doesn't seem to effect morale.MontanaBB wrote:

I often use them, to keep from helping enemies of allies, whom I might not want a direct war with.
