Trade Embargo

Forum attachment

As you can see, i have fully encircled Switzerland. If i declare Trade Embargo, will he not be able to buy anything from the market because he cant physically get the resources in the country? Swiss isnt an oil producer, so his morale will die in few days if i do so, but i dont want to risk trying because i have RoW with him.

If you change your relation to trade embargo you will lose your ROW. Why do you want to starve an AI. It can't because it doesn't consume oil. It doesn't have any units or buildings that consume oil. Just take it and profit of the 10% health increase once you take the capital.

It actually has airports and planes. I want to starve so he rebels and then joins my country. This game isnt only about war, you know that.

War would be the fastest way though. But morale wise joining would be better.
My army is pretty exhausted from German and Italian wars. I lost around 120.000 men, and the army isnt very strong anymore. I want to go further and attack some other countries that i have a strategy for, and IMO wars arent always about the strongest military forces. Often times- The better the economy, 50% chance of winning, if you got good Intelligence- you win.

I am pretty sure Trade Embargo doesn't work like that - it only prevents the target from trading with you (and vice versa), but it will not prevent Swiss to trade with anybody else.

Which is a pity, I think. It would give a new meaning to "naval blockade".

Most likely you will suffer the most, it being such a small country, and all the provinces so close to the capital. The drain on morale really won't be that great.

As BMFox said, war would be quicker.

BUT most likely, the AI has troops in all the provinces by now. No amount of trade embargoes will make a province revolt while there is a troop on it.

If you have excess cash, you could try economical sabotage spies to lower the morale.

I have decided to risk it, i got Lausanne and after 5 days he still has RoW with me. Its a winning situation!
