It is possible they revolted to Italy, recently a bug was fixed that suppressed rebellions, so they happen a lot more often now.

Transition?
So I was playing this game, where I am Yugoslavia and my enemy who is a player also is playing Spain and he is at war with Italy who is AI, Spain conquered some party of Italy, and I begun my campaign in Italy's Spain conquered territories, i logged out and my Italy provinces that i conquered from Spain are now in Italy's hands, why?
note: i gave italy right of way but he didn't give me back.

How do rebelions work?

Now we actually have to be careful about rebellions. Before I wouldn't care if I put a weak troop in a province that has a chance to rebel, but now I move them away from the province center in case.
