Unit consolidation

I have noticed, if two units of different morale combine into a single stack the units appear to be averaged together and the new morale becomes their new morale. I also see where a unit with very low morale (say 15 for example) joins a stack with partially reduced unit(s) (say 50% for example) the lower morale unit appears to be consumed and a new unit of higher morale is the result.

My question: At what point does the programming change it from averaging the two units together versus the combining for one stronger unit?

Thanks,

Pete

The morale of a stack of a given unit type is simply HP / MAX_HP * 100, where HP is the current HP and MAX_HP is the HP if they were all at 100%. This doesn't change regardless of how you combine your stacks.

From creation it has been this way.

If you have 2 inf stacked together, and 50% damage is dealt, one inf unit will die and the other will be at 100% The combining of remains of tattered units into other stacks is the same mechanic, just seen in a new situation. Enough HP is missing to equal one of the units, that unit is removed and the rest will see a condition boost.
