And yes, I did check to be sure we're still Sharing Maps.
Unprovoked War...Huh?
I am Sharing Maps with an ally (call him "Friend") in the same Coalition as me. An enemy infantry unit is walking across Friend's Land. I have an air base one territory South of Friend's Land.
I try to send planes to attack the enemy infantry unit which is well within range. But when I click on this unit to attack it, I get the warning:
"This may provoke an undeclared war...Your army is passing through territory or troops of:
Friend"
It's true I'm flying over his air space, but Friend has no troops there and I am definitely selection the enemy infantry unit. I know because before I click on it, the little enemy infantry unit begins to be animated as walking.

To make it weirder, I also have an air base North of Friend's Land. My plane from there doesn't whine about me attacking the enemy infantry unit.

What gives?
I have seen this before, BTW.

i actually have that problem
The warning is just a stock pro forma warning about attacking anything on the territory of another power with which you are not at war. Don't worry about it -- unless your ally/friend has units in close proximity to the enemy units that you intend to attack.
I would be more concerned about why the enemy units feel free to wander across the territory of your ally/friend. Does your ally/friend have a right of way with your enemy?
