Is there a warning sign when you cant see enemy unit like battleships attacked your ground units ?? or Should I follow hp bar each of my units always ?

If there is a unit in the prov that is being shot at, it will flash as soon as an attack order is initiated and you will see 'bomb craters' (the black spots on the map around a fight) after hits occurred.
If there is no unit in the prov, there will be no indication except those 'bomb craters' and the Province Moral going down.
