I'm not sure whether it was intentional, but it does seem to have been removed. It may be because of the doctrines flag at the top in the 1.5 version.

Was the feature that allowed you to see battleship and aircraft carrier names removed?
I having been naming all of my battleships and aircraft carriers but I can't find their names anywhere in their status. I know that their names will show up in news articles but was the feature that allowed you to view its name in the unit info removed cause I'm not finding it anywhere I search?

That's not where the name used to be though. There's still room for the text string where it used to be, but for some reason it was removed/went inactive.DoctorDR1 wrote:

I guess it wasn't intentional as you can still name the capital ships.

Yes, I know it wasn't there, but the information has been pushed down, so it may have disappeared when they added the doctrine flag.

I liked naming my ships, railroad guns, and even nukes (although ships were the most fun). I wish this could be re-implemented since it gives a sort of mild affection towards certain units, and battles involving named units would be more interesting or funny. Just imagine a naval battle in Hawaii with ships named "Nagato", "Akagi", "Kaga", fighting against ships named "Enterprise", "Yorktown", "California"... really gives those ww2 vibes much better than unnamed battleships and carriers firing at each other.
