"Whale"

I was absolutely destroying an active player in a world at war (he has 120,000 casualties to my 15,000) and in the newspaper he trash talked me and called me a "whale". What does that mean? Is that an insult?

Come back after a diet, and a fixed workout routine. Then we're talking.

A whale in gaming typically refers to a person that is a big spender of money

LOL, a whale is someone who "buys" their victories with ALOT of gold purchases. I had a guy spend almost 50,000 once to try to beat me.

If you haven’t spent gold, take it as a compliment. I get accused of spending gold on virtually all regular maps I play, even times where I didn’t spend any. I’m in a no first usage alliance, so often go entire maps without spending any. Sadly whales aren’t that rare. Casual gold usage is common enough that any player with an ego figures that’s the only way to beat them.

Me and Car once ass kicked a whale, he spent 500k gold and still lost, lol.

And yeah, I agree with 6thDragon, If you haven't used gold, then you should take that as a compliment, barking has become a norm in this game. It is best to ignore such players and move on.

Speaking of that, I met a guy with 4million gold and 6165 cards ( He claims these numbers).

Too early to tell for sure, i hope it's true.

What a coincidence....lol

So, is it real?

The President

He has 350 wins and world rank 140, so he might not be lying.

350*6000=2.1 million.... so yeah.

1.9 million is a massive difference… what map does he do most? When did he join? Let’s assume he got perfect 1500 gold everyday from ads as well.

He's 16, and his account was made in 2017. So He's been playing since he was 9.

Bytro pays their volunteers with gold. I don't know how much, but I could see one of them getting a lot.

But I have to point out that having gold doesn't make a player a whale. Using gold does.

I have about a quarter of that just from "watching" ads, wins, and achievements. I only spend if another is, but haven't been playing many regular maps where gold use is allowed lately. I don't care enough to count my cards, but I have 1,154 just of the ones that speed research up by 15 minutes. Those morale ones are adding up too.

+achievements (he is level 208) and some rounds pay more than 6k gold.

And quite a few pay less. How many achievements? That still doesn’t pay 1.9 million…

Exactly. I was a mod for a while and went up to 2M gold in no time. That was like 5 years ago; now I still have around 1M after fighting some whales with it. In-game wealth doesn't mean you're a whale, it just means you did stuff to get you an in-game fortune, though getting it by just playing maps seems a hard way to do it.
