Hey! I mean capitalist dystopia seems better than the communist one to the north… I mean on one side you get worked to death with no food, on the other side you get worked to death with food!
What does "Reclaim the Mainland" mean?
In a World at War game, there are like 4 people in the newspaper that keep saying "Reclaim the Mainland". I don't know what that means - perhaps it's some fascist/communist chant? Is it reportable?

If Chinese civil war happened today it would be totally different.Carking the 6th wrote:
Yeah, China colonized Taiwan in the 1600’s. At this point, the entire island is culturally Chinese, for the most part.
It would be like if the USA had a civil war and the losers went to Hawaii and set up shop there. Not happening.
Well not really, China had no real fleet to invade Taiwan with, and along with US is why they’re failed. It’s like if US was 10x poorer and Hawaii is supported by China.Taffyta Muttonfudge wrote:

I never said communism was equal to fascism. I said either-or.Renarsm wrote:
Reclaim the mainland is chanted by some mf sobs from Taiwan who can't accept the fact that their grandpas lost the civil war. Also how is communism equivalent to facism. Last time I checked communism didn't violate 80000 people in one city alone or try to commit systematic extermination to an entire ethnicity of people.Croa Del Mar wrote:

Also didn’t the USSR violate hundreds of thousands of Nazis and both the USSR and China commit genocide? Tibet and Xinjiang…
At least the glorious Union is justified!
GLORY TO THE UNION!
Hmmm, only proof I've ever seen of Tibet or Xinjiang is pictures of prisons, and nothing else that would imply that there was genocide.
What do you think those prisons house? Either way it’s a very hard topic to mention. But it did happen, still is.
While I would agree that there is definitely unjustified abuse that occurred there, I did not once see any evidence that might show signs of genocide. The prison houses were an effort to reeducate uyghurs who might have been influenced by extremists that came from the Hexi passage. (the narrow corridor that connects China with Afghanistan) Before these efforts were in place, Xinjiang was very unsafe for the majority of people. (there were armored police cars in front of hotels to prevent terrorists, my father was there)Carking the 6th wrote:

Definitely some, especially suppression of Islam. People are often not allowed to speak their native language and forced into Mandarin. Another thing would be the mass immigration by many Han Chinese, which would make the Uyghurs a minority in their own region. While that may sound like people just moving for opportunities, a lot of it is the CPC supporting this in order to replace the native population of the area. This is similar to many actions by the Russian Empire against Siberian cultures during their colonization of the region.
Watch neutral blogs in Xinjiang from other countries, you will truly understand the perspective instead of propaganda. Also it's CCP.
What do you think I do? Anything you disagree with is propaganda and completely untrue? Funny. There is 100% percent some truth to it. CPC and CCP both work. CPC means Communist Party of China.Claudio NVKP wrote:

Given that the Arab league didn't condemn China on anything done there, I find no reason to believe western sources that have witness testimonials as their best evidence.
I'm writing up a response here, but it's 11pm for me so expect it in 12 hoursCarking the 6th wrote:

As an Arab, I condemn China. Our greedy governments that care more about trade money than our fellow humans be damned.Renarsm wrote:

Are we having a critical thinking socratic seminar about the CCP here?Carking the 6th wrote:

Seeing as this hasn’t dissolved into a death argument just yet… I guess so!

Firstly, I don't inhale that much propaganda. I do understand the perspective, which is that there is no solid proof. (other than "witness" testimonials, which can be easily faked by bribing a few people) I have searched up "uyghur genocide proof"on google and the only sort of photographical evidence I have found would be just one picture of chinese police beating on a uyghur, with no background information given (i.e the uyghur was lashing out at people and had to be restrained) What does this mean? Surely, if there was better proof such as photographical evidence of piles of bodies, of fields of blood, but there is none, because the west cannot find any sort of proof. The same would apply for the accusations of horrid treatment, where the only sort of proof is testimonials, and the only sort of photographical evidence I have seen is that one picture of a uyghur being beaten.Carking the 6th wrote:

I remember seeing a documentary of those camps… either way, it’s pretty easy to suppress proof. Like how Nestle did with many of their various crimes where they literally stole water from communities… or bought slave chocolate… there wasn’t evidence for much of that until people went out and found it. When you don’t want people to know something, it’s somewhat doable when you are a huge world government…
Some proof could be the significant fall in Uyghur birth rates, the literal creation of internment camps (like why would you make those?) and public suppression of Islamic cultural practices in general.
Similar to the Holocaust. Before 1945, people knew that Jews were being mistreated in Germany, but they had absolutely no idea of the criminal extent of it, because the Nazis were very good at suppressing the evidence. It was only after 1945, when the allied troops conquered German cities and found the concentration camps, that people found out how horrible it actually was.Carking the 6th wrote:
