Your planes also attacked the 2x10 stacks of Interceptors at the same time. As you said yourself they were just inches away and all units have a "splash attack", meaning they also attack/defend vs. armies in the vicinity. Even more so if the defending planes are on patrol, then they will help defending when anything within their patrol radius is attacked. Additionally, attacking planes strike second, so your planes where already damaged by defensive damage before they applied their own attacking damage to the enemy.
What happened?
I have 2 tens stack of interceptors full HP black star last level and my enemy has 2 tens stack of interceptors white star level patrolling at the same time, he also have 5 interceptors, 5 tactical, 5 attack bombers patrolling few inches away.
When I attacked his 15 units because it only has 5 interceptors on it. I lose 19 units instantly only 1 interceptors left with red HP. I didn't even killed one on his units. What the fuck happened???
- My interceptors level is higher than him and yet I lost.

Freezy- The information you are giving about "splash attacks" is super helpful. I did not know anything about this, and know i am trying to figure out ways to use this to my advantage.
I hate to get technical, but.... can you help me understand one thing.... in a previous post, you said:
Every unit in the game deals out splash damage in a radius of 5 (for comparison, arty range is 50), and will also receive defensive damage back from all units within that radius. Meaning your cruiser also defends your transports when the cruiser is close nearby but not in the same stack
Now, in this post, you said that kkeeii18's
attacking planes strike second, so your planes where already damaged by defensive damage before they applied their own attacking damage to the enemy.
If the first statement is accurate, then wouldn't kkeeii18's interceptors be defending against the opponents 2 stacks of 10 interceptors (and the opponents 2 stacks of interceptors would be attacking kkeeii18's interceptors)?? kkeeii18's interceptors would be attacking the first stack (of 15 units, including 5 interceptors), but I think they would be defending during the splash attack, correct??
I think this is important for me to know because interceptors attack at a much higher # than they defend. So I am trying to figure out how i can keep my interceptors attacking most of the time, and keep my opponent's interceptors in a situation where they are defending as much as possible.
Thanks in advance...your help in understanding some of the technical nuances is hugely appreciated!

Because of the splash damage, kkeeii18's interceptors would be attacking both enemy stacks, so would strike second.Mahatma Gandhi2 wrote:

sorry for late reply. What I meant with "attacking airplanes strike second" is not that they are attacked first and then defend afterwards, but that even though they are the attacker their attack damage is applied to enemies after the defense damage is received back. Meaning when the interceptors attacked the unit, they first received all defense damage of units in the vicinity before their own attack damage was applied to all units in the vicinity (thus they were already damaged before their attack damage went out)Mahatma Gandhi2 wrote:

Great. I understand how this works know!
Thank you (and RBoi) for responding to my question and for clarifying how that works.
