team battles.
Free teams mean player can chosse unballanced. And it could be 10 vs 1 teambattle.
I have a question about creating a map.
One of the options is Free Teams. Let me quote: "With 'Free Teams' selected everyone can choose their team freely at the start of the round."
First, what is meant by "round?" Is it when a player joins a map, and refers to the entire map-game? So he can pick his "Free Team" at the beginning of the game? Or does it refer to each map-day? Meaning, that players can change teams at each day-change on the map?
Also, there is a slider giving the option of either 2, or 3, Free Teams. What does THAT mean? What does it matter? Or does it refer to the max number of players who can part of a given Free Team?
And also, honestly, I really don't understand what a Free Team is, compared to a Coalition. Can someone clarify?
Thank you.

While the menu uses the word βfree teamβ I think of it more as a fixed team game. These are similar to a coalition, except you cannot leave a team.
You set up how many teams there are when creating the map. this is the 2 or 3 number you see. these will be listed as: Alliance 1, Alliance 2, etc.
When each player joins the map they first must select a team, and then may select their country (if country selection is enabled, default is random selection). If you set up 3 teams there will be 3 choices.
This team will be their βcoalitionβ for the duration of the game. It works similar to a coalition except it cannot be left.
It is up to the players to join the correct team there is not a requirement for the teams to be balanced or fair. From personal experience I suggest making sure that players know their team assignment before you give them the map number.
Round, map, game, world, and lobby all mean the same thing. Team selection is permanent for the duration of the map.
Thanks Vorlon, that was good.
Last clarification, I think. You mentioned that playing-mates should know their "team" assignment before joining a map. Are the "team" names limited to "Alliance 1" (2, 3) etcetera?... So I would advise my playing mates to join specifically "Alliance 1" (2, 3)?... Or can a map creator change a team name from "Alliance 1" (2,3) to something else, when creating the map?
Another question...
How are rewards (if any) distributed in Free Teams maps?
And another question...
Are player-made maps ranked? Are they necessarily ranked or unranked? Is there an option?
Player made maps that aren't internal can be ranked, if anti-cheat is enabled, and two or more people join it.
Thanks Doc.
But now I need to know what an "internal" player-made map is. Please forgive my ignorance. I'm asking all these questions in preparation for creating my first map, so I want to have an idea of what I'm doing.
So, how is an "internal" map created? How is it different from the one I will be making? Can moi make an "internal" map? Do "internal" maps require pixie dust? Or worse, gold?
And etcetera.
Please.
Sorry, I should have clarified. By internal map, I meant an internal alliance map, or one created by an alliance leader or officer, for the alliance members to train. These maps aren't accessible to anyone outside of the alliance.
Thanks very much.

Team win is the same as coalition win.Marching in Place wrote:

Anti cheat enabled =ranked if sufficient players join. 6 on most maps.Marching in Place wrote:

Anti cheat off = unranked and stats do not count, so you will not earn gold, achievements, or victories although it will count as a "game joined" on your stats.
The ranked/unranked works the same way no matter what the game is. Public, private, internal, or challenge.
Thanks, Vorlon.
I was setting up a game that would be 3v1. I created 2 alliances. The setup defaulted to 2 players per team
