my first ever post here I am totally new, and seen some post regarding this but still in need of a good plan regarding invading.
So I read that capturing capitol last is good option to get some morale boost but is it only good strategy against Players or even against AI's? I heard that against AI some players capture capitol first and let AI (including Players turned AI) rebuild their capitol, which also seem logical, but wouldn't that be time consuming? I think capitol building requires around 12hrs so I think 12hrs of doing nothing is bad too, ofcourse they'll attack too and we'll defend but still want to confirm how much time should we wait till next attack?
I have one more question, does unit deals more damage while defending?

It depends. Most of the time I'm capital last, but I could do capital first if it's right in front of me, or capital in the middle if day is about to change, etc.
Don't count on AI rebuilding capitals. It is very rare, and when it does happen it may take days.

There may be some deceiving info on these boards, in 1.0 (an old version deprecated years ago) it was much more common.
Against skilled and active opponents, I take the capital whenever I take the chance.
For all others, I usually take it very close to day change, though there are exceptions, when I'm in a hurry for example.

Like said above, just before daychange. In order to get as few revolts as possible.

There are times that you want to capture it right *after* day change, or as soon as possible, because morale jump matters more than revolt prevention. Day 1-2 being an example, when your core isn't yet at 100% morale.

Why would the morale jump be higher anyway? If your provinces revolt you get nothing from them, no? Of course I get what you mean by ASAP, though. Resources would be more important than rurals.

Because a day's worth of +10% morale is huge and recapturing revolts isn't usually that hard, so sometimes you just grab the capital asap and let the others revolt.
Or late game when target morale is well below 100%, boosting morale across your whole territory can be huge.
These cases are rare, other than usually wanting to capture capitals asap on days 1 & 2.

I get what you mean about going as fast as you can, but why would taking it directly after day-change be better then before? If anything you would be getting more if you went faster.

In early game you get a better morale jump going 25->target vs 35->target, you gain an extra ~2 morale letting the jump happen first, or worst case you recapture the province and receive the resources again. In late game, the opposite, if you've got lower target morale than actual morale you'll want the day change morale drop to happen before you inflate actual morale further.
But this is really rare and shouldn't drive decisions in most cases. The most relevant "right after day change" is really the "right after game start" where you want a capital boost (or two) asap rather than saving it for hours just to avoid a province or two revolting.
