I will spend mine on blue prints of infantry soon but its quite a bit so you might wanna rethink.

What should I spend gold on?
Hi, I have accumulated a large amount of gold and haven't spent any of it since I started playing. I figured I should it on something but I'm stuck on what to spend it on. Should I use it on blueprints? Use it on long construction/production waits? Should I save it until I get further into the game? Anything else>

In my opinion, economic development early in the game provides best pay back value. Also to buy resources in time of shortages, particularly food and fuel late in the game ...Admiral Spragg Lunis wrote:

I don't spend a whole lot of gold for anything other than some specific game I may want to get into, but occasionally I'll join a round a bit late and will use it to speed construction up to par with the rest of the players.
Example. I join on Day 2, I'll rush construction 24-36 hours.

I usually use gold when there’s something that still has a few minutes until it can pe finished producing/constructing and I’ll just use gold on that. I also use it in key battles to increase troop morale and also if one of my cities is going to be captured by a small division, I might spend some gold on that city to let in produce some troops to defend itself. Basically, only use it in key situations.

Gold is most effective at the start of a game and in that period to make up for the imbalance in the country .
It is also more effective for things like Manpower, research time, reduction in long time such as factories at the start, or bringing to bear artillery or Tack bombers in the first 4 days.
However, rather than the above in a general manner, it is very effective to respond to a double cross when you suddenly drop a fortress as they approach a city and you dump some troops in there to defend.
So if you do not want to use it as a balance factor, save it for a revenge move.

Using gold for instant combat results, I'd feel cheasy to do. I see others do it, but I think that is low fighting morale.
I generally only use it for timing purposes. E.g. if I need to go to bed, but that dang carrier is still 20 mins from completion...
