My guess would be that Latvia is too small to be a playable nation. Might be possible to play Latvia in the 100 player map, but as I have not played that map yet, I can't be sure.
Why can't i play as Latvia in Clash of Nations map/gamemode?
Hi there to whoever is reading this, i'm a somewhat new player to CoW and i wanted to know why it isn't possible to play as Latvia in Clash of Nations?
As of now i am only Lvl. 3 and i can only play Clash of Nations and i want to play as Latvia but i can't.
And if it isn't possible to play as Latvia on other gamemodes, why?

You canβt play Latvia in 100p maps. There is only 1 map that you can play Latvia: All countries All in, but that event ends in a few days, so you better level up quick! Try spamming barracks.

I think it's best that Latvia is AI instead of being available as a country in other maps (not counting the all in match). I think you forget a few things. One of them is that it's pretty small so it would be easy for any player to be defeated if you were Latvia plus it would kill the fun if you kept being defeated during the first few days since there are 3 or 4 provinces. Plus there's not a lot of places to build troops and buildings.
Maybe he is Latvian and wants to play his home country?
True i could be wrong but all i'm saying is that i think it's better as a bot in other matches (besides the all in). There's nothing wrong playing the country you're born in i just think it's best for new players not to play it if it was an option in 22 (clash of nations) for example.
I agree that Latvia would quickly get overrun by one of its neighbors but I respect their wish if they don't mind the result
Maybe that's why the all in match exists this way you can play the countries that only AI would play. I think it's a good compromise for the players this way they have something to look forward with the country they want to play.
The challenge of playing Latvia is playing diplomacy well enough to get in a winning coalition, or at least to survive.
