why does buildings get damaged if the province is unprotected

i was always confused why i have to repair buildings in a province that was unprotected and zero resistance or do buildings do "scorched earth"

its mostly cause you march in it... think about it as if the soldier brakes door to make sure rooms are free or a tank destroy light poles while driving

You merely adopted the shitposting. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see a proper post until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but blinding!

but rip level 1 factories, they repair is too expesive to cover

also consider that the locals may have resisted your occupation and they would take damage to their buiildings and farms
