The game is dying. Most people agree with that(on reddit) and google trends backs it up. Asking fellow players, they seem to all say the same thing: We need a new map. The fact is, the game is pretty much unchanged say fro a few minor things since 1.5. We need a new map. I and lots of other players believe there should be a Cold War map. If not Cold War then anything new like a 1942 map or smth. Please I love this game but I am getting bored of inactive people and the sam old thing.

Game is dying?
Sure, it has stagnated, but I wouldn't go as far to say it's dying. Bytro just made a new event called "Capital Rush" (although not as fun as it looks). If you want Cold War map, try Conflict of Nations, they have a map like that and most early technology there is Cold War-era. They can't really make a Cold War map since all the doctrines would be messed up (which countries would lose their Axis/Pan-Asian tech, jet fighters, MBTs). 1942 Map totally agree, world map at the least or maybe even just a European map. Most of the devs' attention are going to the Beta Client. try it out, it will change your perspective of CoW

I think as long as this game want to stay true to history possibilities for new content are few.
I mean , no matter what Nation you start with you build Eco, Research weapons, Build Units, fight, join Coalitions, win or lose and then rinse and repeat.
Your skill is growing but scenario are the same.
It's like playing Chess, the board doesn't change.Yes opponent do change, your skills grow, but in the end you will find a strategy that works and then you go in autopilot
So where is the fun?
Achieving new higher Rank Level?
Win loss Ratio?
Accumulating Gold?
Joining a Coalition and play with friends?
Help other people sharing info in Forum threads?
My last goal was to take at least one enemy city sending Militia.
And I have played only a bunch of games
It's not that CoW is boring, it's that once you have understood the mechanics, you will find this game less compelling.
I also tried Conflict of Nation, but I find myself spending too much time in that game.

Nice analogy

For me at least: AVAs, bringing up my KDR and WLR (they're trash), and definitely helping people in the forums. In the future they should let certain players be "tutors" to help newbies/intermediates increase skill level and develop new tactics

I always get the same response; try Con. I have and its just not the same. A 50's map would not need very new tech and the doctrines can removed. BTW (and you can look this up on google trends) the game is dying and usually people go active so early in games.

I mean, what else is there to say? Course it's not the same, that's the point. And what do you want the devs to do, wave their hands, say "Abracadabra", unbalance the game with no doctrines, and pray that none of the playerbase would leave? Doctrines are one of the key components of CoW. Without it, it feels like playing CoW Classic all over again...

When the grand scheme to build a wonderful CoW 2.0 died at stage 1.5
it was clear that CoW was much lower on the priority list.

I think what would really help is having a road map. To my knowledge I'm pretty sure COW doesn't provide updates on plans and future directions, so at the moment players are left crossing their fingers at a monthly update, only to see they added new coloured text to the beta client. Not that the beta client is bad or anything, it's just we don't know what to expect or how to long an update period will last on a feature or if the devs hear us or not.
Make HWW all in, a staple gamemode

Doctrines are not that big of a deal. They would need time to balance them into a cold war map but im willing to wait

New updates for CoW are still being developed. So you can still expect new features, new content, UI improvements and graphical updates along the way. This game is certainly not dying and will hopefully go on for many many years to come. I cannot give you a road map. When we want to share info on new stuff, we will announce it in the news.
