1991 Role Play: Brainstorming and Planning

NOTE: THIS THREAD IS A CONTINUATION OF: 1991 Role Play (Original Thread)

**NOTE: THIS IS JUST AN IDEA FOR NOW UNTIL ANY CURRENT FORUM RP GAMES END AND IF WE GET ENOUGH PARTICIPANTS**

Here we can discuss ideas about planning the roleplay, including what bloc nations should be in, landgrabbing issues, bloc balancing, etc. I'm going to put down people's names here who want certain nations, although nobody's locked in just yet - everyone has an opportunity to sign up for the nation they want. Major powers, such as Russia, USA, UK, etc. will only be given to trusted community members who have previous RP experience.

Western Bloc (NATO):

The captain of the neutral team would be chosen later.

Countries with an asterisk (*) will only be available for players with previous RP experience, as we will need quailty performances from these nations for the RP to play out adequately.

Also, so this thread doesn't turn into a 20-page off-topic s**tshow, please ONLY DISCUSS THINGS RELATED TO THE PLANNED 1991 RP HERE. Thank you.

But this is NOT the Cold War. Cuba and Russia barely had a relationship anymore! There would be no more Cuban Missile Crisis’.

Someone brought it up earlier, I think it was @Komrade Khrushchev. I’m planning to have a displaced country like Caucasus abandon their cores and move all their units into the Croatian provinces, and RP as them. Since they and Yugoslavia will both have significant resource shortages (Yugoslavia will have 2 core cities and Croatia will have 3 non-core cities), it will force these two to fight.

We’ll also probably have the Croatia player RP as Albania as well. Depending on what happens, they can choose to annex Albania, or continue to RP separately.

If someone wants to RP Cuba, we can have SouthUS take the Cuba AI, but this isn’t necessary.

It seems there are a lot of minor nations that could be roleplayed (Cuba, Israel, Jordan, Croatia maybe) that could al the controlled by 1 person.

If countries end up with 3 cities or something, they will be fucked. Best to pretend tito came back in yugoslavia.

I say allow the counties that own them to RP them. Cuba is no longer important enough to where they need to be Roleplayed at this point.

I think Brando might have to be the guy who plays Yugoslavia and does this. Perhaps a civil war takes place and the winning side gets a divided Yugoslavia (we just RP them as all separate countries) or a United one depending on what they choose. Or whatever the player may want to steer them towards. Brando seems the most well equipped here to implement that.

Yes. Whoever is playing Yugoslavia can RP the breakup, decide who wins, etc... maybe they will allow foreign powers to "help" them in some way.

@croatian kid We've decided to remove Croatia from the RP and just have Yugoslavia RP the breakup themselves. This makes Yugo a much smaller role. Since you don't have much RP experience, you will be relegated to a minor like Morocco.

Perhaps Libya so a major can help them and keep them under watch in case they break a rule they don’t know about. Also depends on how good a player they are, I don’t want them going inactive or anything like that…

Being the sole Eastern Bloc nation in that area, Libya has a pretty important role.

Never mind, disregard what I wrote above. I forgot we made Algeria an Easter Bloc nation. CK can take Morocco or Libya, Zhukov will be right next to him either way ;)
