Is there a timeframe yet about when this RP will start? If there was I did not see it
1991 Role Play: Brainstorming and Planning
NOTE: THIS THREAD IS A CONTINUATION OF: 1991 Role Play (Original Thread)
**NOTE: THIS IS JUST AN IDEA FOR NOW UNTIL ANY CURRENT FORUM RP GAMES END AND IF WE GET ENOUGH PARTICIPANTS**
Here we can discuss ideas about planning the roleplay, including what bloc nations should be in, landgrabbing issues, bloc balancing, etc. I'm going to put down people's names here who want certain nations, although nobody's locked in just yet - everyone has an opportunity to sign up for the nation they want. Major powers, such as Russia, USA, UK, etc. will only be given to trusted community members who have previous RP experience.

Also, so this thread doesn't turn into a 20-page off-topic s**tshow, please ONLY DISCUSS THINGS RELATED TO THE PLANNED 1991 RP HERE. Thank you.

If anyone applied for a nation but I didn't put their name in the OP, please tell me and I will fix it.
Fixed, thanksCarking the 6th wrote:

Wasn’t Kadeko the one who went for Morocco or am I just crazy?

This is my reform plan:
Before declaring war, you must declare tensions. After you publish an article in the news, you must wait 3 real world days(72 hours) before declaring war. When you declare war, you must write an article and combat can start 24 hours after that declaration.
Whenever you make an article for the purposes of tensions, at the end, you must state the country you are creating tensions with and the amount of time you have been making tensions for. For example, "Tensions with poland, 1/3". This statement must be one line after the article is done, so that it is clearly separated from the main text. It is also encouraged to say "Tensions with insert nation here:" and then the main title in the title of the article. Whenever you declare war, you must have the declaration of war as the title. At the end of the article, you must cite the articles used to build up tensions by name and day published. It is ok if the war declaration is a couple minutes early.
It is possible to make tensions with multiple nations and/or make tensions on the behalf of multiple nations. You must be clear.
The format for those cases must be:
Nations, nation, nation, etc are on day x of tensions with nation, nation, nation, and nation. Whenever referring to an alliance, you must list all nations in that alliance.
You can include allies in a war declaration even if they didn't make tensions*. An ally would have to declare war and then in 24 hours, fighting between the ally and your enemies can start. When an ally joins a war, the ally must set relations to right of way any nations that it is declaring war on that have troops in the ally's land. This is to give the nation that the ally is declaring war on time to pull out those troops. If you wish to change relations from right of way to peace with a nation that has troops in your land, you must give the nation 24 hours to move out their troops. If any troops are in your nation for longer than that time, you can fire on them as long as they are not moving out of your country. Additionally, you can be prevented by the mods from setting relations to peace if it is confirmed that someone will be inactive for RL reasons.
*I'm considering adding that you cannot join someone else's war declaration on someone you have share map with.

I need a break from RPs, and improve my NP.
We will begin with a reign of terror. A few murders here and there, murders of great men, murders of little men, just to show we make no distinction.

this is pretty decent, but one thing that I disliked about the last RP was the escalating-secretly-through-puppets tactic.GeneralTanke wrote:

I disagree with the "tensions with insert name here x/3," but I do still think that tensions must be made clear. Perhaps an article can only build tensions with one country at a time, and must do nothing but build tensions. I very strongly oppose your idea of being able to make tensions on behalf of multiple nations, as it seems pretty clear to me the chaos that will cause when somebody makes tensions on someone else on another countries behalf, against their will. The only situation in which this could work is in the case of puppet states, which can be forced to go to war anyway. Either way, I dont see a reason why anyone should get out of writing their articles. The third proposal, concerning transitions from right of way to peace or embargo, does sound like a good idea.GeneralTanke wrote:

This likely won’t be starting for a couple months, so if you change your mind, feel free to applyKadeko wrote:

I’m gonna have to be with Tanke on this one. Having to have everyone justify on everyone individually would be a disgusting mess that would require like 50 articles that would not be read, ruining their purpose in the first place.noblebright wrote:

Though it should be changed from 3 days to at least 2 since this is a much smaller map.
