Here we can discuss ideas about planning the roleplay, including what bloc nations should be in, landgrabbing issues, bloc balancing, etc. I'm going to put down people's names here who want certain nations, although nobody's locked in just yet - everyone has an opportunity to sign up for the nation they want. Major powers, such as Russia, USA, UK, etc. will only be given to trusted community members who have previous RP experience.
Czechoslovakia (AI) (Remember Czechoslovakia didn't break up until 1993)
The captain of the neutral team would be chosen later.
Countries with an asterisk (*) will only be available for players with previous RP experience, as we will need quailty performances from these nations for the RP to play out adequately.
Also, so this thread doesn't turn into a 20-page off-topic s**tshow, please ONLY DISCUSS THINGS RELATED TO THE PLANNED 1991 RP HERE. Thank you.

That’s going way too far. “Oh you can do this or that because realism!” At one point you’ll go too far and ban 70% of the game on such a quest. Just too many rules to follow, someone will inevitably slip on the 9000 different rules that exist and get yelled at even though they simply couldn’t remember everything. Chill out, let’s not ban 70% of the features in the game just for the sake of being very slightly more realistic.
Small nations should be at a huge disadvantage anyway, how do you think Germany took over 90% of Europe? It’s fine if it is unbalanced, the whole point of being a major power is that you can steamroll a minor with your military, influence, wealth and other overwhelming powers.

If USA annexed all the NATO allied AI, then they would also have 20, however it is more likely the AI are split between NATO members.
