But Egypt was definitely less pro-Russian than Algeria…
Not to mention that Egypt will own Jordan and Israel, who are very Pro-Western states.
**NOTE: THIS IS JUST AN IDEA FOR NOW UNTIL ANY CURRENT FORUM RP GAMES END AND IF WE GET ENOUGH PARTICIPANTS**
So what would everyone think about a 1991 Roleplay, where Germany is reunited, the Cold War is over and the USSR is falling apart. Violent wars are raging in Libya and Yugoslavia. There would be 3 teams, the West, the East, and Neutrals. This RP would take place on the 22 player map.
West:
This RP would function similar to the current 1949 RP, where the first 4 days are for landgrabbing, and where every 2 ingame days equals 1 real life year (so 1 ingame day is 6 months in real life). The West and East will try to get Neutral or even opposing nations on their side.
Please give me your feedback on this idea, what you like about it and what can be changed. If this gets enough interest I will make an RP map and more info.

Perhaps those areas should be independent?Carking the 6th wrote:

Maybe a West Country can own them and rp as if they were a separate country?
There is certainly enough, give me the word and I could probably create a conversation with 22 people + who all enjoy and are good at RPingCarking the 6th wrote:
There is only one way to find out…
I think that sounds like a good idea, however maybe only in Israel as Jordan was pro-Palestine by 1988.Komrade Khrushchev wrote:

The borders of Poland, Morocco, Ukraine, Egypt, Russia, Romania , Yugoslavia, Finland and Spain will have to be changed and this could have serious consequences, e,g. Poland and Romania may only have 3 cities if we are totally realistic, I think 4 should be the minimum for a player.
In all fairness, I have even contemplated a Cold War RP on a HWW Map
Well pretend Romania annexed Hungary for simplicity’s sake. Finland will only have to give up 1 city. Yugoslavia will only have 3 cities but that’s fair because Croatia is neutral and they have multiple Eastern Bloc nations around them. Poland is trickiest: They would only have 3 cities if we do accurate borders, maybe we’ll have them keep Lvov. Depending on what we do with Russia it may change.Zaktty wrote:

Agreed, Lviv stays Polish, but I am not sure about Yugoslavia, I didn’t pick 3 cities as the cut off because of fairness, I picked it because even with 4, the economy starts to stop on day 25, so I can’t imagine how bad it could be with only 3.
By day 25, Yugoslavia will be destroyed, or they will have more cities. I’m thinking of forcing Yugo and Croatia to fight once the land swap ends, that way we can either settle things diplomatically or one of them is destroyed.Zaktty wrote:

Once the war is over Yugo can expand into Bulgaria, Greece etc, like what I did in the 1949 RP.
Good suggestion, but since Israel doesn’t have a city they would be virtually helpless until substantial reinforcements arrive. I’m probably going to have the Croatia player take Albania as well and RP as both countries, with the open to annex it later on. Still working out the kinks though.Komrade Khrushchev wrote:

Russia all the way, even todayCarking the 6th wrote:
Turkey makes sense, while they hated the Soviets and opposed them it got a lot less extreme after the collapse. As you can see they’d become rather neutral and only a NATO member in name, playing both sides to their benefit. They’d lean west but I don’t see them being on their team. Egypt is similar as in when “president” Sadat took over they became more Western, but under Mubarak they turned more neutral. Algeria is a harder case, but I’d have them leaning towards Russia, probably still neutral. Perhaps @TheZhukov can help with Algeria in the 90’s.

Have countries on their team send troops!AleksanderZ wrote:

I'll take Algeria, Carking is Egypt right? Also make it a CoN map with no prearranged alliances
Ok, although I want to give everyone a chance to claim nations so nobody's locked in yet. Majors like USSR, USA, UK, etc will have to be trusted people only. If there are multiple trusted people then they will have to write articles like we did for 1949.TheZhukov wrote:

That's the idea. You weren't around when we did the 1949 RP right? So you didn't know what it was like. Basically teams will send troops to support their teammates at high risk areas. For example, USA would station some troops in NATO countries.Taffyta Muttonfudge wrote:

Please move further discussions here: 1991 Role Play: Brainstorming and Planning
I claim mother Russia
I don’t think you count as an experienced player… you didn’t do anything with UK in 1914 and aren’t really doing much as Spain… you will have to prove it. Earn it.
