Basic Timeline
Start Date: January, 1st 2015
It has been a little less than a year now since the Russian Federation officially annexed the Crimean Peninsula from the Ukraine due to the ousting of Pro-Russian Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and due to increasing Anti-Russian Sentiment in Ukraine. In the Donbass region of the country Civil War continues to run rampant throughout the region with Pro-Russian Rebels taking control of the Donetsk and Luhansk provinces of Ukraine while being supposedly supplied by the Russian Government.
In the Middle East the Syrian Civil War rages on with hundreds of thousands of civilians and soldiers dying so far in what has become one of the deadliest conflicts in the Twenty First Century.
In the East the Peoples Republic of China continues to expand its hold in the South China Sea with continued naval build up and creation of artificial islands to protect China's interests in the region.
The world is becoming increasingly volatile and some say it is only a matter of time before another major war will break out. The question is which side of that war will you be on?

As you can see the Rebels control larger regions of Syria however the Government still maintains control of the major cities, however the cities are cut off from major government support making them easy targets.

This is an example from another RP i hope this is sufficient
Even Emperors fear. Fear is the strongest tool in diplomacy. The same had been shown when the new Emperor, Pu Yi, came to the throne. Fear and intimidation did its work. Scared of not being capable of keeping the new empire in hand it signed away the South Chinese lands to the Germans as well as many other treaties with both Germany and Japan. Now that his Empire has resettled and no longer is in need of Western aid Pu Yiβs eyes turn south. To a land lost due to his personal fault. However he now no longer lives in fear. The newly consolidated Empire has industrialized with European aid. It has reached a military capability of all the great nations. However unlike many the Empire has been able to keep its discipline and traditions. Military parades are frequent and national pride has been restored. Now it is at a state of all the great powers, the hunger for revenge and expansion. The south lies weak, the Japanese remain a dominant force to the east, to the north the Russian Empire lies spread. To the south the English Indiaβs form a sense of threat and to the west the Old Persian Empire lies. While seemingly looking west itself the east for them is just as nice of a treat.
The Qing Empire however has for long been isolated, with the treaties forced upon it and the countless revolts there has never been a capability to look outwards for allies. However now with a stabilized country all following Pu Yi the search for allies commences, to the North the Russians seem to be the logical choice. Needing to isolate Japan and prevent its expansion. To the West Persia as well as the Qing Empire would do good to be able to focus its armies somewhere else? To the South the English colonies remain but with the memories of the wars still fresh in mind the word revenge crops up more than ally. To the South West Siam lays, long seen as sub china it has now sprung up and shows its fangs. Maybe this tiger is very well capable of being an ally. To the West only German China and Japan remain. Japan even though having been a traditional ignorance or enemy has been seen as the lesser evil. Germany while indeed restoring the Empire only did so out of its own ideals never to help the Empire. So the question remains, who to have as allies and who to banish as enemies.

a question,
I can only assume that members of the UN have no obligations to share map or right of way with other UN members, since that includes everyone on the map at the start, but are members of NATO obliged to share map or at least give right of way to all other NATO members?
